Sarah Zegree was hired as Director of Choirs at Evanston Township High School in May of 2020, where she will direct the curricular and extra-curricular choirs, as well as Piano and Music Technology.  Prior to her appointment at ETHS, Sarah has worked with elementary, middle school, and high school choirs and vocal jazz groups spanning Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

As a teacher and freelance musician, Ms. Zegree has worked in school music programs in Morton Grove, Niles, Wheaton, and has worked in several capacities for the Chicago Children's Choir. An accomplished pianist, Ms. Zegree has been an accompanist for vocalists and instrumentalists as well as choirs and musical theatre productions. She also served two years as a Regional Recruiter for Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Ms. Zegree is a published arranger with Alfred and Hal Leonard publishers, and continues to write and arrange music for ensembles across the country. She is passionate about equity in and accessibility to Arts Education and has traveled to Washington D.C. several times to advocate for federal funding for national arts organizations.

Ms. Zegree earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Western Michigan University where she sang in the Internationally regarded Gold Company Vocal Jazz program as well as the University Choral Ensembles. She completed her Master's Degree in Arts Administration from Teachers College at Columbia University while interning at Carnegie Hall, the Music Sales Group, and the International Society for the Performing Arts. When she is not making music, Ms. Zegree loves to watch movies (and eat lots of popcorn!), read, and go on adventures with her wife Stephanie and pup Audra (Audie) McDonald!
